Slot Game of the Week

Jewel of The Dragon Red Phoenix Slot: Light & Wonder, RTP: 95.97%

Released at the end of 2022, Jewel of The Dragon Red Phoenix Slot is currently sitting in the top spot as the most popular game in the US. What's making this Light & Wonder title a knock-out hit with players? Let's start at the beginning; it's a 5x3, 50-line slot with an Asian theme, wilds, scatters, free spins, jackpots, and Hold & Win feature! Plus, if you're impatient when it comes to hitting bonus rounds, there's a buy-pass feature too!

The game showcases stunning graphic design that transports players to a far east dynasty, where stakes start from $0.20 to $60.00. To begin making wins, you'll need to match 3-5 symbols on one of 50 betlines. The Princess is the slot's wild, and she can land on the last four reels; she can also land as an expanded symbol.

There are fireball scatters that trigger the free spins bonus game, but what you're really looking for is the fireball bonus symbol because if you land six (or a combination of the scatters and fireball bonus symbols), you'll get 3 Hold & Spin rounds. During the Hold & Spin feature, you'll win the Grand jackpot payout (15,000x your bet) if you can fill the reels with scatter symbols. How can you do this in just 3 spins? Well, every scatter that lands sticks and resets your spins to 3, so you'll have plenty of chances to stack up the symbols!

Ready to fire up the adventure and head to the far east? Then it's time to spin! Light & Wonder is featured at almost every online casino in the state, so you can take your pick of where to play this game - see the complete list of US Light & Wonder Casinos.

Book of Fusion Slot: Light & Wonder, RTP 95.97%

Book of Fusion Slot is one of the latest "book of slots" titles that first began with the release of Book of Ra. Foregoing the usual historical, treasure-hunting theme, this slot turns the genre on its head and is all about fusing energy to take advantage of the bonus rounds.

Set on 5x3 reels with 10 lines, Book of Fusion is set in a laboratory, and you can start making wins by staking $0.10-35 a spin and matching 3-5 symbols from left to right. The book symbol is the bonus and the wild, awarding wild wins, subbing, and triggering the free spins bonus round.

During the round, two symbols are the special expanding symbols, one high paying and one low paying. Make a line win with either symbol, and it'll expand to cover the whole reel, causing an electric re-trigger. The special symbols can pay in any position, making it easier to stack up the wins during the round. For every 3 additional scatters you land during the round, you'll get an extra 10 spins and two new special symbols added. The potential payout for the game is 7,142x, and it's a high volatility spinner that'll attract players of all stripes.

Play'n GO Get Connecticut License

Play'n GO has gone live in its fourth US state as the Connecticut Gaming Division awarded the game content creator a license this week. Play'n GO is already active in online casinos in New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia, proving a hit with players. The provider plans to release 50 new slots in 2023, so there's plenty to look forward to, including ionic titles that are already live, such as Reactoonz, Riche Wild and the Book of Dead, Fire Joker, and Moon Princess.

Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Play'n GO, commented, "Online gaming operators in the US are increasingly looking at retention strategies to mitigate against costly acquisition – especially in expensive media markets like the New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut tri-state area. Being able to bring Play'n GO games to Connecticut – the best content in the industry for retention – will be music to the ears of operators and their players. Our strategy is to be the best in every regulated market in the world. Our new license in Connecticut joins the more than 25 other regulated markets we are already thriving in, and we can't wait to get started."

Indiana Hopes for Online Casino Dashed

HB 1536, which sought to legalize online casinos in Indiana by September 2023, has failed. The bill had a February 21st deadline to be called for a hearing but did not progress, meaning there can be no further attempts until 2024, as the state's current legislative session ends in April. There was a significant concern in the Hoosier state that allowing online casinos would take revenue away from the land-based sector rather than increase the market size.

Federal Bill to Ban Sports Betting Ads

A new bill entitled "The Betting on Our Future Act" has been introduced by Democratic rep. Paul Tonko. The bill seeks to "prohibit the advertising of sportsbooks on any medium of electronic communication," which would effectively ban sports betting ads at the federal level on all mediums of electronic communication controlled by the Federal Communications Commission, which includes TV, radio, and the internet.

Why is Congressman Tonko taking a stand? In his words, "In the years since the Supreme Court legalized sports betting, these unfettered advertisements have run rampant, with betting companies shelling out billions to ensure they reach every screen across America. These ads pose a particularly dangerous threat to adolescents and young adults unaware of the risks involved in gambling, and to individuals prone to addiction.

The excessive, uncensored promotion of these sites needs to be put in check. My legislation puts a halt to this dangerous practice and sends a powerful message to the online sports betting advertisers. Congress must take the necessary steps to reel in an industry with the power to inflict real, widespread harm on the American people."

The bill reflects concerns regarding the widespread and fast expansion of sports betting in the USA, which has seen 36 states legalize the activity since 2018.

New Jersey Regulator Releases New Responsible Gambling Initiative

This week, the NJDGE has announced a new responsible gambling initiative that will see operators share customer data to identify and prevent problem gambling through intervention.

The NJ DGE has given operators parameters of specific behaviors to flag, including:

  • Consumers that play for an increasing amount of time with each session.
  • Those who play until there is less than a dollar in their accounts.
  • Those who frequently enact time-outs or visit self-exclusion pages without enacting a ban.
  • Players who make large deposits in short periods.
  • Those who make multiple requests to increase account limits within 24 hours.

Depending on the behavior displayed and the level of concern, operators will then interact with the consumer by sending responsible gambling messaging, requiring the player to watch an informative tutorial about using responsible gambling tools and limits or with direct contact. This is the first scheme of this type in any US gambling jurisdiction.

“We are using data to identify at-risk players, alert them to their suspected disordered gambling, and inform them about available responsible gambling features in online platforms and corrective actions they can take. This new approach will enable dedicated responsible gaming experts employed by the platforms and us to see the early warning signs and reach at-risk patrons before they find themselves in a financial catastrophe.”

- DGE Director David Rebuck.

It’s currently uncertain how successful this bill could be, as a similar one, also submitted by Senator Castro, was defeated just last year.

Prometheus: Titan of Fire is a Fantasma Games slot currently trending in the US due to its awesome gameplay, more innovative setup, and brilliant bonus rounds. Staged on a 5-reel, 3-4-4-4-3 grid, it’s a medium volatility slot with 40 lines that can deliver max payouts of up to 1,356x your bet.

If you don’t know, Prometheus originates from Greek mythology and is known for creating humankind, as well as stealing fire from the Gods and giving it to humans in the form of knowledge and civilization - hence the slot's name.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Prometheus-Titan-of-Fire-Gameplay-1024x580.png

You’ll start making wins by matching symbols on the reels; there’s also a wild symbol that can sub for other characters in a betline, along with four other bonus features - let’s take a look.

  • Fire Collect Feature: Fire symbols can fall on reels 1 or 5. If a fire and coin symbol lands simultaneously, the value of the coin symbols is awarded (1-30x your stake).
  • Double Collect Re-spins: If two fire symbols land then reels 1 and 5 are locked, and you get 3 re-spins. Only coins and blank symbols can land during the re-spins, and all coins lock in place. When your spins end, you get all the coin payouts x 2.
  • Free Spins: 3 bonus scatter symbols anywhere on the reels trigger 12 free spins. Free spins have hot spots with progressive levels, which increase throughout the round to a max of level 5 - these essentially give the multiplier that any landing coin symbols pay by. If you score more bonus symbols during the round, they will be collected, and at the end, you’ll get more spins with extra hot spots added to the reels.
  • Super Free Spins: Collect an extra 15 bonus symbols during free spins, and you’ll trigger the extra Super free spins bonus, which comes with your active hot spots in place, 3 locked coin symbols, and collect symbols locked on reels 1 +5. This means that whenever a new coin symbol lands, you’ll get an incredible 5 re-spins, making the bonus action of this slot seem never-ending!

American Gaming Association Predicts Record Wagering for Super Bowl

The AGA predictions for this weekend's Super Bowl are in. Forecasts show that 50.4 million citizens are expected to place approximately $16 billion in bets. The projections are based on a national sample of 2,199 adults, which has revealed an estimated 20% of US adults will lay at least one wager on the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs (Sportsbooks have the Eagles pegged as the favorite).

If the predictions are correct, it's a 61% increase on 2022, which was also a record-breaking year. According to the estimates, 30 million Americans will place online wagers, with a further 28 million betting casually with friends or as part of a pool or squares contest. The AGA attributed the increases to widespread legalization driving interest in the National Football League.

Mayhem:  Red Tiger Gaming, RTP 95.71%

When a new slot gets released by Red Tiger Gaming, it's practically guaranteed to be a visually excellent, action-packed, innovative spinner. Mayhem, an anarchy-themed, dystopian slot, is no different.

Graphically, this slot is a shake-up to the norm, and it's impressive, more reminiscent of a graphic novel than a slot game. Dive into the mushroom cloud-filled backdrop and spin to win on 5x3 reels with 20 paylines. You'll start winning lines from 3-5 symbol matches.

Mayhem Slot gameplay

Let's look at the bonus features:

  • Cash Queen Re-Spins: The Cash Queen symbol is 1-3x multiplier wild. It can only appear on the middle reel. If the Queen lands and is used in a win, she locks the middle reel and the winning symbols for a re-spin. Hit new winning symbols, and you get another lock and re-spin until you add no new winning symbols or fill the reels.
  • Anarchy Spins: Hit 3 Anarchy symbols on reels 1, 3, or 5, and you'll get 10 spins. During the round, a Cash Queen symbol will be locked on the middle reel, meaning every win you make comes with at least one Cash Queen re-spin and potentially lots. There's one more thing to add. For each re-spin round you trigger, the central Cash Queen symbol grows by a 1x multiplier, which is applied to all the winning free spins, making this an epic round.

We did promise you an action-packed and impressive slot! Ready to spin? Then load up the reels from $0.10-100 at these US Red Tiger Gaming Casinos - enjoy!

3 Tiny Gods: Foxium (DGC Casinos), RTP: 96.4%

3 Tiny Gods is an adorable slot that packs a punch and takes you back to Ancient Egypt for a jackpot-filled adventure. Set on 5x4 reels with 40 fixed paylines, it delivers 3 jackpot features, 3 reel modifiers (2 which randomly fire during the base game and 1 during free spins), and a free spins bonus round.

3 Tiny Gods Slot Gameplay

Let's dive into the most profitable features, the bonus elements:

  • Mystery of Horus: When active, 2 or 3 reels will be filled with special eye symbols, transforming into a matching and paying symbol.
  • Gift of Basket: Randomly triggered on non-winning spins, this modifier shakes up the reels to give you a second shot at forming a win combination.
  • Free Spins: Landing 3 scatters on reels 1, 3, or 5 activates 8 free spins. During the round, the Wrath of Anubis feature can trigger.
  • Wrath of Anubis: If active, this awards 3-12 extra spins and removes the lowest-paying symbol from the reels to increase your chances of bigger wins!
  • Jackpot Feature: The jackpot is fixed, not progressive, and it's randomly triggered, meaning anyone can win it. When the feature starts, coins will fall from the reels, and if you catch enough in one of the pots sitting above the reels, you'll enter a scratch and win the round. Here you need to find three match symbols, which correspond to the mini (15x), midi (100x), or maxi jackpot (5,000x)!

Draftkings Hack: Data and Funds Lost

In some not-so-good news for this week, DraftKings has announced a hack, which has affected numerous player accounts and $300,000 in funds. The hackers targeted the banking information of players, removing money from accounts and changing customer details, and even changing phone numbers, making customers' two-factor authentication useless.

However, DraftKings maintains there is no evidence that their servers were breached, claiming the data was compromised elsewhere, with Paul Liberman, President of Global Technology and product, stating, "DraftKings is aware that some customers are experiencing irregular activity with their accounts. We currently believe that the login information of these customers was compromised on other sites and then used to access their DraftKings accounts, where they used the same login information… We see no evidence that DraftKings' systems were breached to obtain this information."

DraftKings has urged all players to use unique login information at their site and said they intended to "make whole any customer that was impacted." This is good news if you have been affected. Still, it also serves as a great reminder of online safety and the need to use independent login information across different sites.
